When One Becomes Two

Children learn at an early age how to add and multiply simple numbers, and most children are excited to notice how quickly things add up when they see for themselves how “little” can become “much” in no time at all. The process of doubling a treasure of two favorite candy bars to four brings a smile to the face of any child. Likewise, what adult would not be pleased to discover his bank account had sud-denly and unexpectedly doubled due to a deposit from an unknown benefactor? Candy bars and bank accounts, however, are not all that important or essential to our well-being. Material possessions are temporary, while spiritual treasures have eternal significance. Our Lord Jesus reminded His disciples and the crowds who had gathered on the mountain to keep things in perspective: “Don’t collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:19-21 HCSB)

An unnamed benefactor has presented the BSPH Foundation with an exciting challenge during 2014: For every dollar any donor gives to the Foundation during this year, this benefactor will add another dollar. In reality, “one becomes two!” When a donor gives $25.00 to the Foundation, that gift immediately becomes $50.00, and $200.00 becomes $400.00 because of the special challenge for this year.

As a testimony of how God has blessed you, will you prayerfully consider making a special gift even now for the ministry of the Baptist Spanish Publishing House through the Foundation? Just think: Your treasure – whatever the amount – will be immediately doubled for the glory of God. What an exciting opportunity to further the ministry of the BSPH!
